Chicken Feed

This chicken feed issue is really getting to be a problem. First of all it’s way too expensive and only getting worse. Secondly the quality in my opinion isn’t what it used to be. I can say that just by watching the laying habits and quality of eggs.

Now I’m usually the one standing up for premixed commercial feeds because they actually carefully calculate and mix their feeds accordingly for nutritional value. I’m sure the percentage and exact amounts are the same however I do think the quality of ingredients has definitely gone down hill. So I’m now researching alternatives. Now we do actually normally supplement our chickens anyway but usually it’s as a backup. Now it’s becoming a requirement. Something has got to change or my faith in commercial feeds is going to fall by the wayside.

Don’t think I’m the only one noticing. I hear the same thoughts from people in Tractor Supply every single time I’ve been in there lately. If Tractor Supply doesn’t step in and put pressure on these producers they’re going to feel the backlash as well. Step up Tractor Supply take care of your customers.
